How We Can Dry Fruits In The Sun

The different and delicious fruits of summer are all favorite. Sometimes we have lots of fruits and we can not finish them and we should do something to not be damaged. The best solution is to dry them. They will be tastier after we dry them. This year I decided to use the sun to dry my fruits. This is not so expensive and easy to do. Now we need to know How We Can Dry Fruits In The Sun.

The only problem is the long time to get dry. If these long lasting is not important for you, do it. Use the sun to make your tasty dry fruits.


Fruit drying equipment:

The fruits should not be so soft or ripe. Fruits can be apple, blueberry, tomato, peach, cherry,

You should use lace trays or plastic lace trays. We use them because we want to change the air in fruits. And a rushing for protecting the fruits.






How to dry fruits in the sun

Wash the fruits and chop them. Some of them should be a slice from half. And chop some of the bigger ones in several slices.

Keep the fruits in the mix of water and lemon juice to not change their color.

You should put the fruits in the lace trays and let to change the air between them. Put a dish under the lace to not pour the fruits out.

Cover the fruits with thin clothes to be safe from insects. And put the lace trays in a hot place and sun. sometimes change the place of fruits.

When the fruits are wrinkled, it shows that they are dried and cut them to be sure that they are completely dry.


Time to dry the fruits:

Apple: 3 days

Cherry and apricots: 3 days

Tomato, peach: 4 days

This is great. I was literally just thinking about this. We bought a dehydrator and I was thinking of a more sustainable way to dry fruit. Thanks for the info!
